The Stickley family adventures started in Hawaii in 2005 when Cris and Emilie were married. The real excitement began in May 2008, when Nova was born. 2 short months later, our little June-Bug joined the family from all the way in Vietnam. The next few crazy years included Emilie being deployed to Afghanistan, while Cris and the girls moved back to Hawaii, then a long year of living apart (and a lot of trips across the Pacific Ocean), while Emilie remained in Colorado to complete her Army committment, and Cris had to stay in Hawaii for his job at the University.

In the summer of 2012, little Jude joined our family, and the whole gang reunited for good in Hawaii!

Follow our adventures, as we try to keep track of life with our 3 crazy kids, while keeping our friends and family updated on the happenings here in Hawaii!

pike's peak and the new job

I have a lot of pictures to post, so bear with me. We had a great day on Tuesday (my last day before starting my job). when we woke up we discovered a perfectly clear, cloudless sky (the first in a long time), so we decided it was the perfect day to drive up Pike's Peak. And it was. The Matus gang are the type to have fun doing pretty much anything in the world, so it was of course an absolute blast. Aside from all of us freezing our little bottoms off, we had a great time.

Today i got up early and put on my uniform and headed in for my first day as an official OB/GYN. was i scared, you might ask. Yes, i was. It actually ended up being a really challenging day. To start off I couldn't log on to the computer b/c my account was 'disabled' for some crazy reason, then when i could log on none of my passwords worked, so i started off behind schedule before i even saw my first patient. i hate running behind. Eventually i got all that stuff worked out, but none of my patient's were straightforward cases, so i was challenged all morning long, and i still have a bunch of stuff i want to look up. I missed the girls like crazy (and i only worked until 3 today). Tomorrow i work until about 8 p.m. so it's really really gonna be painful.

so, that's the work end of things. i'm sure i will eventually settle in to my new role and all will be fine, but for right now it is certainly not easy.

anyway, here are pictures of our little girls and their awesome cousins. O-H-I-O on Pike's Peak

The cutest and awesomest 11 year olds

Our fam (notice Juneau's face saying "i'm freezing out here, hurry up and snao the picture already!")

The gang (minus the photographer!)

NovaJo very cold but happy to be snuggling Daddy.

Today while i was working the rest of the gang experienced a pretty serious hail storm. Juneau thouroughly enjoyed the aftermath, and loved playing with the leftover hail

Here she is crunching on the ice
A good game of basketball was mildly disrupted by the afternoon rain
Brent trying out the climbing wall at the park
NJs new sunglasses

Nova drinking a delicious afternoon bottle and snuggling in for a nap.
Jbug in her own little piece of heaven - apple juice, a pacifier, Sesame Street, and a good snuggle
