Playing Tourist

It's been so fun to have the Stickley Gang in town, because it gives us a great excuse to play "tourist" and check out some places we've always wanted to see, as well as re-visit some old favorites! It's been a jam-packed week!

This morning we were thrilled that the Baby Dedication that was scheduled at our church happened to be while our family was here! We couldn't have asked for it to work out better!  The girls dressed up in their "Sunday Best", and Nova truly thought she was a real princess...complete with tiara (which unfortunately flew off her head a few short moments after this shot was taken, and was then stepped on by the little princess.).  Good thing her dad can fix ANYTHING! So she was still able to wear her tiara to church.

It was fun to have the girls with us in "Big Church" instead of kids church.  Nova spent some time snuggling and cuddling Jude while we waited for the  service.

She loves him :)

In an unfortuante series of events, the roof of the church collapsed a few weeks ago (it is held in the auditorium at a local high school - thankfully no one was hurt), so we are temporarily meeting at a different location. It is the highlight of the girls' day to ride the bus to church from the parking garage.

The girls are discovering all sorts of dangerous activities in the yard...

Including the latest addition to the lower yard...our new trampoline (well, new to us..actually a hand me down from one of our old neighbors!) They love it!

We are currently taking bets on how long it will be before we have a kid in a cast...

I have heard through the grapevine there are some requests for photos out of the great state of Alabama! So these next few are for you, Aunt Wally! And thanks for your many years as a faithful blog follower :)

We celebrated Grandma Stickley's birthday with the Hamilton Gang. Grandpa Stickley took us all out to dinner overlooking the ocean at Gordon Biersch! We enjoyed the sunset, the company, AND the garlic fries!! Afterwards, Melody showed us all of her favorite Hula girl statues.



The 3 crazy girls :) I love it so much that Juneau and Nova get to grow up with their cousin nearby.  It's tough being so far from much of our family, but we are definitely thankful for our Hawaii Ohana! 

The girls love to try to pick eachother up. After dinner we were serenaded by each of the girls doing a solo of a song of their choice, and then a Trio. It was fantastic! The best after-dinner entertainment we could have asked for!

Last week the gang drove into Kailua to visit me during our lunch break.  We headed over to Kailua Beach Park and enjoyed our lunch with this beautiful view.  It's been super windy, which made it a bit cold, but I still enjoyed the break from the office!

And I especially enjoyed getting to see my littlest sweetheart during lunch!

Yesterday we headed up to Waimea Valley, where we met Tim and Melody for some hiking.  Unfortunately, I was on call, and I had not anticipated that there would be no cell phone service on the hike. The valley walls are apparently so tall they block all cell signal, and I couldn't take the chance I would miss an important call, or that I would need to go into the hospital for a delivery, so I left the rest of the gang and headed into Haleiwa for some shopping.
Everyone had a great time hiking to the waterfall, and the girls even braved the ice cold water, and went for a swim under the falls.
