The Stickley family adventures started in Hawaii in 2005 when Cris and Emilie were married. The real excitement began in May 2008, when Nova was born. 2 short months later, our little June-Bug joined the family from all the way in Vietnam. The next few crazy years included Emilie being deployed to Afghanistan, while Cris and the girls moved back to Hawaii, then a long year of living apart (and a lot of trips across the Pacific Ocean), while Emilie remained in Colorado to complete her Army committment, and Cris had to stay in Hawaii for his job at the University.

In the summer of 2012, little Jude joined our family, and the whole gang reunited for good in Hawaii!

Follow our adventures, as we try to keep track of life with our 3 crazy kids, while keeping our friends and family updated on the happenings here in Hawaii!

9.5 and 17 Months

Nova is now 9 1/2 months. We are no longer in uncharted territory! this is the age Juneau was when Cris arrived in Vietnam. Now we can say "ah yes, 9 1/2 months, we know all about that age". We find it very funny that when Juneau was this age, and nova was just a little bitty baby, we thought Juneau was so old and grown-up. Now that Nova is almost 10 months, and Juneau is 17 months, it seems like Nova is still such a tiny little baby. I guess that's what happens when you are the baby of the family, you stay a baby.

Nova at 9.5 months
Nova is still Little Miss Sweetiepants. She stands very well on her own, and is taking 1 or 2 lunging steps. She has also become rather adventurous, and will climb up and slide down the big slide on the playground by herself. She is still a little lacking in the hair department, but it is starting to fill in a little. She has 4 top teeth and 2 bottom teeth. She prefers bottles, but is trying some food. She prefers to munch on bread, but eats some baby food as well. Still not sleeping through the night, but gettting a little better about putting herself back to sleep (sometimes!)

June-bug at 17 months:
She's a smart little bug (at least in her mom and dad's opinion!) She picks up on EVERYTHING. She is saying so many words. Her favorite words are Mom, Dad, Sis, Dog, Watch, Fish, Juice. She is walking/running/climbing all over the place. She now spontaneously hugs and kisses all of us all the time. Still super independant, and full of adventure. She learned the word "no" last week, and has been trying that out quite a bit. She loves to look at books, and her favorite by far is "Go Dog Go". She excels at her 2 nightly chores, feeding Sherpa, and unloading the silverware from the dishwasher. She loves to wrestle and play rough.
