The Stickley family adventures started in Hawaii in 2005 when Cris and Emilie were married. The real excitement began in May 2008, when Nova was born. 2 short months later, our little June-Bug joined the family from all the way in Vietnam. The next few crazy years included Emilie being deployed to Afghanistan, while Cris and the girls moved back to Hawaii, then a long year of living apart (and a lot of trips across the Pacific Ocean), while Emilie remained in Colorado to complete her Army committment, and Cris had to stay in Hawaii for his job at the University.

In the summer of 2012, little Jude joined our family, and the whole gang reunited for good in Hawaii!

Follow our adventures, as we try to keep track of life with our 3 crazy kids, while keeping our friends and family updated on the happenings here in Hawaii!

all is right with the world today :)

today daddy came to colorado for a last minute, short little visit. Needless to say, there were 3 very excited girls waiting for him to arrive! There was some equipment at the Air Force Academny that Cris' dept at UH wanted to borrow, and they needed someone to come to Colorado to bring back the equipment. Of course the word "volunteer" hadn't completely been uttered before Cris' hand was in the air to make a quick trip to Colorado to see his girls.

Unfortunately, he will find over the next few days that there are several little "daddy" jobs that need done around the house (light bulbs that are out, and a lawn that hasn't been mowed since he left in the beginning of august), and also he will found out that the Nalgene sippy cup supply he has so carefully maintained has diminished from 8 to just 1...and i think the one that is left may have been mostly chewed up by a squirrel. haha! things kind of fall apart without dad around :)

anyway, i have a lot of catching up to do, which i am going to do kinda quickly so i can get back to spending time with this awesome little family!

Coral took some great pics of the 5 cousins when the girls spent a couple of days at her house during Betsy's wedding week. The slip n slide made an appearance in the Matus' yard, and was a HUGE hit (for little cousins AND big cousins!) Juneau jumped right into the fun, and tried to copy Alex and Lyndsey's sweet moves!

A big pile of crazy cousins!

Nova preferred to just carefully walk along side the sprayers and collect water in her bucket...

Classic nighttime scene at the MAtus house...everyone gathered in the living room watching a movie before bed...all that is missing in this pic are the ice cream bowls :)
Nova found Brent to be "crazy and hilarious!" (She told me this about 10 times on the way home from their house)
What a good cousin Brent-y is :) he truly is so sweet to these little girls...
helping them out with their playdough project...
Now....back to the SECOND Ohio trip pictures! haha!

Aunt Sonya, and cousins Secily and Micah headed up to Columbus to help celebrate Jbugs 4th birhtday. The girls ADORE Secily. They think she is just the coolest kid ever. Nova is kind of obsessed with "baby micah" (although micah is pretty much as big as her, she still calls him "baby micah"). Soon baby Micah won't be the baby anymore, though! A 3rd Saccenti cousin will be joining the crew in just a few months!
Anytime the 3 girls are together, someone will invariably shout "PILLOW FIGHT" at the top of their lungs, and then all the girls go crazy!
Nova's very serious pillow fight face...
Juneau really, REALLY, enjoyed the pool this time. She is a fearless swimmer, and had sooo much fun jumping in the pool and splashing around
She has been doing these crazy jumps and belly flops, and on a couple of different days spent over an hour just jumping into the pool over and over again
Not sure if this one earns me a "bad mommy" award, but i let the kids play with Juneau's new scooter down by the pool (dangerous???!!!! haha!) Nova hasn't really been too into swimming, and relaly enjoyed just riding around the side of the pool on the scooter :)
Nova and Micah both got a lot of enjoyment out of this "boat" i got at the end of summer clearance Target sale...
Finally...the birthday party!!! After much pondering, my mom had the great idea of having a "dog party" for juneau, with a Lady and the Tramp theme. Not sure if i have mentioned it, but Juneau is pretty much obsessed with Lady and the Tramp. She spends about 80% of her day in her "lady" persona. She actually has a little language going that i have been learning to decipher :) anyway, the party was a huge hit (Even among the canine-phobic cousins, secily and micah!)
It was truly so sweet how much Juneau enjoyed every little detail of her party. she absolutely loved it, and it was so much fun to watch her enjoy it so much!
We started off the party by reading Lady and the Tramp. My mom had made ears for all the kids (lady, the tramp, and siamese ears). The other kids didn't seem to care so much for the ears, but Juneau LOVED hers, and has still been wearing them around!
And yes, there were doggie games. lots of doggie games. We played "eat your spagghetti a dog", "doggy may I", Dog-walk races, and a duck-duck goose doggie game (alll led by a very excited and creative grandma!)
Juneau and Secily were master doggie eaters - There was a little gagging and near-vomit going on when Secily tried to eat her entire meatball in one bite!! haha! (check out Juneau's dog posture!)
And of course, there was re-enactment of the famous spagghetti noodle scene :)
Juneau with her brand new lady dog
Cake pops!
Happy Fourth Birthday little bug!!! we love you!!!
Delicious!!!!
and finishing off the night with a little Starbucks for the mama!
Micah lounging around with his cake-pop

And now, some SERIOUS lounging going on!
The night finished up with a cousin slumber party and a little bit of the LAdy and the Tramp movie
The next day the gang headed to COSI, while I attended my OB/GYN conference
A brave little pregnant momma herded all the kids around
Juneau and Nova took Sec and Micah to the little carrousel for a ride. Nova chose "princess horse" Micah and Secily had a great time :)

The cousins with Grammie
The next morning Grandma continued the spoiling with a little breakfast in bed at the hotel.
aaaahhhhhh.....a great week in ohio!

I still have lots to post about! just got to find the time :)
