The Stickley family adventures started in Hawaii in 2005 when Cris and Emilie were married. The real excitement began in May 2008, when Nova was born. 2 short months later, our little June-Bug joined the family from all the way in Vietnam. The next few crazy years included Emilie being deployed to Afghanistan, while Cris and the girls moved back to Hawaii, then a long year of living apart (and a lot of trips across the Pacific Ocean), while Emilie remained in Colorado to complete her Army committment, and Cris had to stay in Hawaii for his job at the University.

In the summer of 2012, little Jude joined our family, and the whole gang reunited for good in Hawaii!

Follow our adventures, as we try to keep track of life with our 3 crazy kids, while keeping our friends and family updated on the happenings here in Hawaii!

this one's for Aunt Wally :)

Friday night Fireworks!!!!! This became a little tradition with the Hawaii gang while i was deployed, anb I loved looking at the pictures Cris would post of their fun friday's. This week I got to actually be there, and it was a blast!!! Tim mentioned that his mom (Aunt Wally - a faithful blog follower) was happy we were in town so she could see the happenings in miss Melody's world through the blog, haha!! so, this one's for Aunt Wally :)

Does it get any sweeter than this??!!!! Five of the cutest little girls in the world, Nova, Melody, Juneau, Alyssa, and Ellie. These girls loooovveeee Friday nights! Flashback to earlier in the week, when we were enjoying some serious beach time!! The girls ask every single morning if they can go to the beach! I think they are going to love growing up in Hawaii (once we actually get here for good!)

Today we went to the beautiful Kailua Beach Park. Nova instantly made a little friend, who loved to sit and play in the sand just like her, and they played for almost 2 hours. Juneau, however, spent nearly that entire 2 hours splashing in the shallow waves. She spent quite a while doing what looked to her growing group of spectators like Yoga....Not sure what exactly it was, but it involved various balancing/gymnastic moves at the edge of the waves. it was hilarious!!! And yes, she really is nearly black after less than a week at the beach!!

earlier in the week we headed to the USS Arizona Memorial with Laura. Juneau took a lot of interest this time around, and it took some creative explanations to try to fill her in on what the memorial was all about.
Now, back to our Friday pictures.

Nova was thrilled to discover this Halloween shirt from last year in her closet. Juneau....getting goofier by the day!!!
We set up a blanket tonight for fireworks by the PERFECT tree for climbing. all of the girls loved climbing and hanging on the tree.

Beautiful little Miss Melody.... (always the perfect hostess, she brough halloween goodie bags for all the kids! HUGE hit with the other little girls!)
not sure what these two were up to (actually, i'm not often sure what these two are up to, haha!)...but Melody told Juneau "Do this!" and started looking off into the distance! they crack me up!
Besties!!

Nova and Ellie chillin' out (Ellie discovered Cream Puffs, and was rather enthusiastic about them!)
Juneau and Melody watched the entire fireworks show from their perch in the tree.
Lovely view of Honolulu and the fireworks
The gang watching the show

Nova loves the fireworks....but does NOT like the really loud ones! After the fireworks, the 4 girls decided to play a game of Full Tackle Football! Don't you just love Melody with the football in that little purple dress?!!!

There was lots of running, chasing, and squealing....
And also lots of tackling and dogpiling....
some of which required adult intervention...(and of course there were a few tears and scraped knees...)
Finally, one of the funniest family pictures we have! totally classic! This is from our sneak preview after our beach pictures earlier in the week by Nichole at Haole Girl Photography.... stay tuned for the rest of the family pics.....along with our upcoming adventures this weekend!!

I'm in Kailua and looking for a photographer for beach pics of my family. Would you recommend Haole Girl?

Thanks!

oh yes! Nichole is fabulous. She is not a full time photographer...she holds a regular job, and her photography business started as a hobby. She is really really great, and super patient and great with kids. She doesn't offer the full scope of the big-time photographers (print packages, greeting cards, etc)...but her prices are the best you'll find on the island, AND she includes a DVD of the high-resolution images!! (this is a deal-maker for us! we use the pictures for all kinds of things all year long).
