NovaJo is 4 months; Juneau is 11 months

Dear Nova,
In a few days you will turn 4 months old. This has been your most eventful month yet! You moved from your "home" at the Residence Inn, Grand Rapids, and came back to your real home in Hawaii. More importantly, you got a big sister this month. Most of the time you are pretty oblivious to her presence, but sometimes you will notice her, and just crack up! You think Juneau is pretty hilarious. You have an incredibly sweet personality, and people comment all the time on what a happy baby you are. Here are some things we have discovered about you this month:
* you have an awesome belly laugh! You laugh the hardest when you get your neck kissed, or when your dad is talking silly to you.
* you love to be held. You also love gentle, soft touches. In fact, your very favorite way to fall asleep is to have your head and face patted with soft kisses on your chubby little cheeks. It is too sweet
*You weigh 13 pounds and 5 ounces, which puts you in the 34th percentile
*Bathtime still rocks!
*Your swing also still rocks!
*Your favorite song (i'm embarassed to say) is "If I could turn back time" by Cher. We accidentally discovered you love this song, and if you are fussy in the car it calms you right down.
*You tried baby cereal for the first time this week. It's not really to enjoyable in your opinion.
We love you little Nova Jo, and we are torn between wanting you to stay a tiny sweet baby, and loving watching you grow up and learn new things every day.
Dear Juneau,
Last week you turned 11 months old! You are an amazing child. We can't believe how quickly you have adapted to your new life, and what an absolutely perfect fit you are into our family. Here are some things we have learned about you this month:
* You love crazy wild play with your dad! You like your exersaucer, jumper, and activity table, but you would MUCH prefer to be tossed around on the couch and thrown up into the air. You have this crazy laugh where you make the laughing noise on the inhale. It's so cute and funny.
*You have 4 teeth, 2 on top and 2 on bottom, and when you smile it is pretty much the cutest thing in the world. You have a little underbite right now, which makes it even cuter.
*You LOVE to clap. Anytime music comes on, any music at all, you will stop whatever you are doing and start clapping, then look around and expect everyone else to join in.
*You are so over baby food. You enjoyed baby food for about two weeks, but now you pretty much refuse to eat unless it's grown-up food. Your favorite foods are bananas, rice, and noodles.
*You can crawl so fast! You also stand while holding on to furniture and cruise around.
*You weigh 21.3 pounds (62%) and you are 29 inches tall (72%).
*You are super tough. You really don't cry very much, even when you get hurt. You get a really sad look on your face, but then just shake it off.
Juneau, we are so amazed that God has blessed us so greatly with you as our daughter. Having you join our family has exceeded everything that we ever imagined. We can't imagine life without you and we are so grateful for the miracle of you coming home to your forever family.
