The Stickley family adventures started in Hawaii in 2005 when Cris and Emilie were married. The real excitement began in May 2008, when Nova was born. 2 short months later, our little June-Bug joined the family from all the way in Vietnam. The next few crazy years included Emilie being deployed to Afghanistan, while Cris and the girls moved back to Hawaii, then a long year of living apart (and a lot of trips across the Pacific Ocean), while Emilie remained in Colorado to complete her Army committment, and Cris had to stay in Hawaii for his job at the University.

In the summer of 2012, little Jude joined our family, and the whole gang reunited for good in Hawaii!

Follow our adventures, as we try to keep track of life with our 3 crazy kids, while keeping our friends and family updated on the happenings here in Hawaii!

Nova's 3 month update

Dear Nova,

Your 3rd month has been eventful! You moved from your home in hawaii to a hotel room in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where you spent the entire 3rd month of your life! You adjusted very well to the new environment, and you have been spoiled rotten by spending every day wih grandma. Every day Grandma takes you out in your stroller and you guys walk and shop at your favorite stores. The first stop on the circuit of your walk is the local Goodwill. This Goodwill is pretty impressive, and has a coffee shop and optometry dept. You actually have your own designated rocking chair in the store, and when you get tired Grandma rocks you and gives you a bottle. I know it sounds a little crazy, but that's just how Grandma is. You also spend a lot of time in the pool, and you guys have even gone to a couple of movies. You stay pretty busy during the day, but the very best part of the day is when Grandma drives you over to the hospital for a quick drink of milk whenever I can get free for a few minutes. I don't get to see you very much during these busy days, so it makes both of us happy to get to snuggle for a quick minute in the middle of the day. When I finally get home from work you are so happy to see me and we spend the rest of the night playing.

Here are some things about you that we've discovered this month:

* you LOVE your front pack. You will basically go anywhere quite happily if you can ride in your front pack. As you can see, everyone in the family takes turns carrying you around.

*we already knew you were super happy in the mornings, but you have gotten even sillier! When you wake up you spend quite a while just laughing and giggling to yourself. it's hilarious to watch you!

*bathtime continues to be a highlight of your day. In your hotel-home there is a big mirror by the sink, and you love taking a bath while playing with your "friend" in the mirror.

*this month the hair on top of your head grew back.....but you lost the hair on the back of your head. It looks a little ridiculous, but you are still exceptionally adorable.

*grandma taught you your first game. "the foot game". Basically it goes like this.
Grandma: "give me your foot. I'm gonna get your little foot. just give me your foot."
Nova: raises up your foot to grandma's mouth foro kisses and then laughs hysterically.

You are such a happy and sweet baby. You laugh and giggle all the time. Your dad has been missing you like crazy, and can't wait to have you back as his sweet little girl. We love you more than ever baby nova! Don't worry, your crazy little life is going to go back to normal very soon.
