Juneau's turn to star in a video...

This morning we had to have Cris to the Denver airport by about 6 a.m. to make his flight back to HAwaii, so we decided to do our traditional "farewell night" in a Denver hotel....the girls just love spending the evening swimming in the hotel pool with daddy, and we always have a great night before a sad goodbye. We checked into the hotel, then spent a couple of hours at the pool. Juneau has always loved the water, but in the last 4 months she has gotten very comfortable with holding her breath and spending a lot of time underwater. She could have probably stayed in the pool for another hour, if the rest of us weren't exhausted from the pool time :) Nova initially only wanted to sit in the hot tub, and told Cris (who kept trying to convince her to come into the pool) that she was "having my own kind of fun, daddy". Finally we dragged her kicking and screaming into the pool, and she of course had a fabuluous time once she got used to it. Juneau couldn't get enough of the jumping, throwing, swimming, and rough play with her dad. After we were totally tired out from swimming, we went to a Japanese Steakhouse for the girls favorite - Hibachi!!! :) Unfortunately, Luis (our mexican Hibachi Chef), didn't kow that tossing shrimp tails and egg shells into his hat was the girls favorite feat, and that particular skill is apparently not taught in the Mexican version of Hibachi school, but he did start a mean Onion Volcano fire, which sort of made up for the hat thing. AFterwards, we made it home just in time to catch one of Nova's two favorite shows - a reality show about Jousting (Sasuke is still #1 of course). Fear Factor is still on the list of favorites, but pales in comparison to Jousting and Sasuke. In fact, she is torn between naming her new sibling "sasuke" or "fear factor" if it's a boy. She says it's a tough name, so he can grow up to be a fighter. If it's a girl she is currently working with some variation of "Princess Hoyanya" (completely made up). anyway, we are not to happy about spending the next 39 days (who's counting??) without dad, but we know that this will be the last long separation for quite a while, and we are lookign forward to an entire summer together, a short separation in the fall, and then a regular old family life after the new baby is here.
