First trip to the Dentist!!!!!

It has been quite a busy weekend around here. I worked the 730 a.m. to 730 p.m. shift on Fri/Sat/Sun, which basically means the whole weekend is shot.  Fortunately, it wasn't crazy busy at work (it was actually quite slow) and i was able to get some very necessary work done while i waited for someone to come in to have a baby :) 

Last week we took the girls to America The Beautiful Park to play around in the fountain a bit.  They loved it, of course, in spite of it being a rather chilly and overcast day.

One of the many, many reasons I am glad I married Cris....

While i sat in the grass and lounged, along with most of the other parents, Cris was running around in the fountain and playing with the girls. I am so so thankful that the girls have a dad who loves to engage in active play time with them. Love it!!!

It is never too cold for this little bug to get completely drenched and splash around in a fountain. 

After the crazy play time in the foutain, the girls got dressed and dried off, and had some crazy play time in the grass. 

This morning the girls had their VERY FIRST dentist appointment!!! I am super lucky to have a good friend in town who is a dentist. Scott actually deployed to Afghanistan with the 101st Airborne (the same unit I deployed with), and we spent several months in a very tight knit little group of medical providers in Afghanistan. Although he was stationed in KY at the time, he recently got out of the military, and decided to move to Colorado, so it was great to have an excuse to visit one of my "battle buddies".

Try not to be disturbed by Scott's "creepy dentist smile"....he really was awesome with the girls :)

Nova was quite pleased that Juneau had volunteered to hop in the dentist's chair first, so she could get a little idea about what was about to happen. you can tell she is rather apprehensive!

Juneau was fearless, and opened wide for her exam.  Unfortunately her adoration for sugar came back to haunt her, and she was diagnosed wtih 2 cavities :(  Juneau is a really great brusher, and loves to brush her teeth, but I guess it hasn't been enough to overcome the sugar she constantly wants to eat. 

Nova, on the other hand, doesn't have nearly as much of a sweet tooth, but she is also not a good brusher at all.  In fact, she went through an entire phase where she refused to use any toothpaste (i tried like 15 different flavors...thankfully we are out of that phase).  Anyway, she lucked out, and didn't have any cavities.

She did remarkably well for her exam, and even though Scott was just planning to get them used the dentist, and take a quick look, he decided to go ahed and give them a cleaning and flouride treatment, and they did FANTASTIC!

After their trip to the dentist, our friend Gina offerred to watch the girls the entire day so Cris and I could have  a little daytime date! how cool is that?  It was a perfect day for a date because I had an ultrasound scheduled, so we got to start our adventure with a look at the little guy. Fortunately, he looks very good. He is growing quite well (We are still in the 92%!!!!) and active and healthy.  There are some indicators that my blood pressure may become a problem later in the pregnancy, so i am hoping and praying for the best as far as that is concerned.  I am really hoping to sail through this pregnancy, just like Nova's. I still feel super great  (well, at least until about 8 p.m. rolls around, and I feel like i might actually need Cris to carry me up the stairs! haha!), and I am happy to be starting into my 6th month!!

Meanwhile, back in Ohio, Grandma and Grandpa are keeping quite busy with some special spoiling time with Juneau/Nova's cousins, Kaleb and Hope.  My sister and brother-in-law are on a 2 week long trip to India to provide support for an orphanage in India, and Kaleb and Hopie are getting the Royal Treatment.  It all started out with their very first trip to Skyline Chili.  Not really sure how you can beat that one, but they are sure trying, and in the few days they have been there they have alrady been to a Trampoline adventure warehouse, COSI, Cedar Point, Berry Picking, and lots more!!!! Wish we could be there to join the fun!!!
