The Stickley family adventures started in Hawaii in 2005 when Cris and Emilie were married. The real excitement began in May 2008, when Nova was born. 2 short months later, our little June-Bug joined the family from all the way in Vietnam. The next few crazy years included Emilie being deployed to Afghanistan, while Cris and the girls moved back to Hawaii, then a long year of living apart (and a lot of trips across the Pacific Ocean), while Emilie remained in Colorado to complete her Army committment, and Cris had to stay in Hawaii for his job at the University.

In the summer of 2012, little Jude joined our family, and the whole gang reunited for good in Hawaii!

Follow our adventures, as we try to keep track of life with our 3 crazy kids, while keeping our friends and family updated on the happenings here in Hawaii!

Happyt Birthday Nova!!!!!

Nova's fourth birthday was yesterday, but we pretended like it was today :) My mom flew in yesterday evening at 650, and I had to be at work by 730!!  We ran through the airport like crazy, but i made it to work on time. The girls were SOOOOO excited to see grandma. They ran through a crowd of travelers coming down the escalator screaming "GRANDMA!!! GRANDMA!!!!".  it was kind of awesome :)  I am working the night shift all weekend, and it is super tiring.  Due to construction on the unit, we don't have a "call room", which means you very well may find me curled up in some corner of the hospital or a utility room trying to catch 5 minutes of sleep.
Anyway, Grandma and the girls picked me up at work this morning, and Nova was sooooo cute when I opened the van door and sang her a quick happy birthday. We spent the whole day calling her the "birthday girl", and tonight she said "thanks for calling me 'birthday girl' mom, i really like that".  My mom took the girls to the park while i napped, and then we had a little birthday party. Nova had some great gifts to open, including a huge box of cool stuff from the Grandpa/Grandma/Mammaw Stickley, and an entire "super-hero princess" costume from Grandma Saccenti.  Juneau say she wants to be a Vet or an Astronaut when she grows up. Nova wants to be a Super Hero Princess.
After the party (complete with pink cake with pink icing), we headed to the mall for the over-indulgent parental sucker-store "build-a-bear". The girls love to go into the store and browse, but they have never asked me to buy them anything from there (probably because they know i would laugh hysterically!).  Anyway, I had decided to surprise them with their own build-a-bear, and it was soooo much fun! :)  Nova picked a cute brown bear with a princess outfit, hello kitty panties, and red glitter shoes, and she named it Princess Jolie.  Juneau picked a dog (of course), and thought it was ridiculous that i would even suggest buying an outfit for her dog. She just wanted a leash, and a miniature version of her dog (she pretended it was the dog's puppy). she named the dog Stella, and the puppy Ella.
I have pictures, but no way to upload them from my work computer, so i will have to add them tomorrow.

Things I want to remember about Nova's 3rd year:
She's sooooo sweet i can't even describe it.  She loves to hug and kiss and snuggle.
She is still addicted to her Brown Blanket.  She loves to rub her face against it and will say "ohhhh brown, brown, brown. I love you brown".
She loves her sister.  When we watch Juneau play soccer, she cheers like crazy and says "go sister! go sister!" or "That's my sister! yeah! That's my sister"
Her recent favorite phrase is "ohhhh, you're just so sweet", or "aren't you just so sweet"
She is a little princess in every way. If she is not sure about what she is going to wear, or if she is going to do a particular thing she will say "Mom, do princesses wear jeans?" or "mom, i don't think a princess would do something like that".
She l-o-v-e-s her "prince" (daddy).  She talks about seeing her prince, dancing with her prince, and snuggling her prince on a daily basis.

Anyway, I have 3 work-days left before we head to seattle!!! super super excited for about a million reasons.
