The Stickley family adventures started in Hawaii in 2005 when Cris and Emilie were married. The real excitement began in May 2008, when Nova was born. 2 short months later, our little June-Bug joined the family from all the way in Vietnam. The next few crazy years included Emilie being deployed to Afghanistan, while Cris and the girls moved back to Hawaii, then a long year of living apart (and a lot of trips across the Pacific Ocean), while Emilie remained in Colorado to complete her Army committment, and Cris had to stay in Hawaii for his job at the University.

In the summer of 2012, little Jude joined our family, and the whole gang reunited for good in Hawaii!

Follow our adventures, as we try to keep track of life with our 3 crazy kids, while keeping our friends and family updated on the happenings here in Hawaii!

Whose Bumbo Is It Anyway?

It has been a challenging couple of weeks around here. First Nova was sick with a fever (which I thought was pretty impressively high at 103.7), then the fever went away, but she was hit wiht vomiting next. Finally Nova got better, then Juneau got sick (and beat out Nova with a temp of 104.7), finally her fever went away, and then she got diarrhea.  It's been a big mess of ugliness around here. To make things work, the girls have kicked their competition, bickering, whining, and picking at eachother into high gear. I realize this is part of having 2 girls very close in age, but goodness gracious, it's enough to make a mama pull her hair out.  EVERYTHING has turned into a competition...They even argued about who was sicker (Juneau thought she won since her fever was higher, but Nova thought she won since she was vomiting everywhere).

Anyway, all the illnesses are over (at least I think they are!), so hopefully we will start to have better attitudes around here!

Meanwhile, we keep digging out treasures from boxes in the garage.  This week we found the beloved Bumbo.  Nova thinks it's pretty cool that she still fits in it :)

But check out our big boy Jude, who actually does fit in it! Cris was taking apart on old motor from the garage, and Jude decided to give him a hand.
Jude had his 2 month check up this week.  He is growing like a  weed, and in spite of his rather shrimpy start on life, he is now almost 11 pounds, and 22 inches long.  He is starting to smile a bit more, although we haven't really been able to get a good giggle out of him, and he is cooing and babbling a bit more.  He is truly a little angel baby, and although we have a rough evening every once in a while (he gets a bit fussy around 7 p.m.), sometimes we go for days at a time without even hearing him cry!

Oh I totally know about the competition days!!! Those are SO fun. You want each child to have a chance to win and lose, but when it's always a fight NO one wins hehe. Let me know when you figure out how to deal with that one, because I certainly haven't! Jude is really growing and the picture of him and Cris is precious. Love this family!
