Halloween 2012

Are you guys on the edge of your seats, just dying to know what the kids were for Halloween? :)

 

We had Violet from the Incredibles (recycled from last year!!), a SuperHero Princess ("it's a real thing, mom!!"), and Buttered Popcorn. 

 

But first, an update on Nova...

Nova had a high fever on Sunday, and was overall quite pitiful.  Monday night things actually got a little worse, with lots of vomiting and more pitiful-ness.  By Tuesday afternoon she was starting to feel a little better, and had created this craft from construction paper....

 When I asked her what it was she said it was a crucifix....she then proceeded to say 5 Hail Mary's.  She is so funny with her fascination with her Catholic preschool education.  Cris and I are just thankful that she comes home from school saying Hail Mary's, and not a new repertoire of dirty words! :) Anyway, Nova is all better, and was able to participate in her school Halloween parade today.

 

Now on to our evening Halloween festivities. 

Nova has been talking about being a SuperHero Princess when she grows up.  It makes perfect sense to her that a princess could also be a superhero. My mom made her this great cape for her birthday, and it came in really handy for her costume

 Juneau was insistent that she wanted to be Violet for another year.  Which of course I was thrilled about, because i actually put a decent amount of work into this costume last year.  The only thing I had to buy for her costume was a new pair of shoes :)

 They take this superhero business VERY seriously!

 And then there is Jude. In case you didn't know, my mom sometimes sends rather random items mixed in to her packages. This Buttered Popcorn infant sleeper is one of those items! While I was getting the girls ready for trick-or-treat I realized Jude didn't have a costume...then I remembered the Buttered Popcorn sleeper my mom sent in a package of baby items, and it worked out perfectly :)

 I have to admit Jude made a very cute Buttered Popcorn (and doesn't he look like his daddy here?!)

 The Backseat of the Prius is certainly crowded with 3 carseats!

 Juneau stayed in character, even on the elevator. And in case you were wondering why we were riding an elevator during trick-or-treat, we were trick-or-treating at the mall...it's turned into our favorite way to do it!

 This picture is weird on many levels.  Yes, the blonde ponytails are a bit strange, but even stranger is seeing Juneau in a pink shirt!

 There's nothing wrong with putting your entire head into your candy bag to get up close and personal with the loot!
