Our trip to the zoo needs little narration today as the pictures tell the story. Here are some of the 104 pictures I took:
As soon as we hit the front gate, the girls were off and running...
Though it was rare, we did actually stop and look at the animals occasionally.
These 3 were not far from each other at any point during the day.
The short one needed a little extra boost.
It was all we could do to get the girls to actually look at the animals for a little while before we couldn't hold them off any longer and let them hit the playground.
Expert climber girl...
The tiger was frisky today and playing in his pool
Putting on a show:
I am so happy that my girls have a for-real cousin so close in age living so close by. As you can tell, these three have the greatest time every moment they are together.
That's quite a list:
Look out, I think he's about to do some of the stuff on that list
The girls used this opportunity to play "Dorothy trapped in the witch's castle"
Tin-man Beth had to come chop down the door to let Dorothy (Melody), Toto (Juneau) and the Scarecrow (Nova) escape.
Once the goat saw Wallie and Oma were distracted with picture taking, he quickly siezed upon the opportunity to grab a magazine out of her purse and start chewing on it. When that was taken from him, he turned to nibbling on Oma's sleeve.
As the girls started to get tired, they figured out they could all three ride on the stroller.
They then proceeded to try all conceivable seating arrangements for the 3 of them in the stroller:
The fun and games didn't stop all day, even when riding in the stroller (in yet another seating arrangement)
Wow, a picture of an actual animal on a trip to the zoo...
Musical stoller seats one more time:
By the time we left, all three girls were ready for a nap. When we stopped for lunch, with each bite she took, Nova's little eyes would almost go completely shut and I didn't think she'd make it back to the car awake. But then, after the kids got done eating, they managed to find their second-wind (or third, or fourth, or fifth) and chased each other around the outdoor seating area while the adults finished lunch.
Once again, we had such a great day hanging out with the family and the girls had the time of their life. I barely made it out of the parking lot before Juneau and Nova had that glazed over look and within a few minutes they were out cold. Even after nap tonight, you could tell they hadn't completely recuperated. Tonight I'm sure there are 3 little girls on this island sleeping very soundly!!
