Day 48: The Big Game!!

Genoa, Ohio - Tonight the 7th grade Lake Lady Flyers took their undefeated 5-0 record on the road against archrival, the Genoa Comets, who also sported a 5-0 record coming into the contest.

Starting guards, Alex & Lyndsey Matus were ultra-nervous all day and going into the warm-up.

GAME TIME!

Lyndsey Matus bringing the ball up the floor:

Nova was more interested in getting a refill on the popcorn

Lake jumped out early in a fast-paced and physical game.

Juneau was more interested in playing games on Aunt Coral's iPod

Lyndsey ran the offense from the point (this is the first year they've had something that could actually be loosely called "running an offense") Brent, Juneau and Nova watching "the game"

On the court, the battle raged...
In the end, Lake never trailed in the game, withstood a furious run by Genoa at the end and pretty much controlled the game wire to wire in posting a 32-25 win to go to 6-0.

Alex Matus led all scorers with 16 points.

The celebration after the big win meant the Matus gang heading to BW-3's. On the way home, everyone ventured by the home of what must be one of Toledo's biggest computer geeks who has an elaborate display of Christmas lights on his lawn synchronized to Christmas music that is broadcasting via a small FM transmitter.

Only 10 more days until Christmas (and almost equally importantly, only 3 more days until Bowl Week begins!!)
