Day 53: "Together at Last...

...It's Skyline Time!!"

Okay, so everyone not located in southern and central Ohio have never heard that little jingle and have no idea what or who a "skyline" is...but for the initiated, Skyline is a little taste of heaven and the restaurant where I was thrilled to find myself sitting today at lunchtime staring down a 3-way and 2 cheese coney's.

The order of the day was some last minute Christmas shopping - the male version of Christmas shopping - you know, the kind where you go into the store, you go directly to the thing your are looking for, you buy it, and you leave. It was productive, efficient, and best of all, it is done!

But, there is always fun to be had for Juneau and Nova while shopping:

Especially if Grandma is there and has to keep up with Aunt Coral on the spoiling...so, the horse ride actually got money put into it:

Though each of them only got to ride once, Juneau figured out a way to get some bonus ride time:

The girls have been in a huge singing mood lately, especially Nova who just sings pretty much constantly. My dad couldn't have been more tickled by Juneau and Nova bursting into a rousing redentition in the car today of "We don't care 'bout the whole state of Michigan...cause we're from O-HI-O"

Nova's vocabulary (especially through song) just continues to explode and it is so funny to see her as a little shrimp 2 year old busting out all these 20 word sentences describing her thoughts about a whole scenario that often ends with "that would be a good idea, wouldn't it dad?"

Juneau's unsoliticed and continuous "I love you's" to every member of the family continue to be the hit of the Holiday Season.

A quick Emilie update: I just finished talking to her on the phone and she successfully got up at 5:30 a.m. this morning (just a few hours ago for her), went out in the 30 degree weather in shorts and t-shirt and passed her PT test.

Be warned, tomorrow we may revert back to the ESPN version of the blog as Alex and Lyndsey take the court for another exciting round of 7th grade girls basketball. They are playing a team that they beat a couple weeks ago 50-2...so, unlike last week where the Matus girls played all 28 minutes, they may get some rest come the 4th quarter.
