The highlight of the day, of course, was the much anticipated arrival of Baby James. Sonya was on bedrest for the last 2 weeks of her pregnancy, and I know she was ready for James' arrival this morning. Those pudgy little cheeks were soooooo cute, and he weighed in at a hefty 8 lbs 11 oz (pretty impressive for Sonya's barely 5 foot frame!!) congratulations to Tommy, Sonya, Secily and Micah on this beautiful new addition to their adorable family.
Does the idea of 2 four year olds, a 3 year old, and a 2 year old in a minivan for 6.5 hours is terrifying to most people....it terrifies me too. that's all i have to say about that, haha!!! but we survived. These four kiddos were actually incredibly well behaved...aside from the unavoidable frequent potty stops required for this gang, everyone did great! In the elevator at the hopsital on the way to meet Baby James. Can you tell Big Sister Secily is excited!!!
look at these adorable little cousins....headed to meet the new baby.
anxiously waiting for the elevator....
Poor little nova...that kid loves nothing more than holding a little baby. Unfortunately, the hospital visiting rules prevented any kids under 10 years old from visiting unless they were siblings, so Nova didn't get to see "little baby james who was JUST BORN!!!" (in her words!) But hopefully we will get to see him soon!I didn't get to take too many pictures with the new baby (he was kind of busy snuggling with his mommy!!) but he is just the sweetest little thing ever.
So, many (many, many, many) hours later, we are all tucked into our condo in Pigeon Forge. The girls finally got to bed before midnight, and we are enjoying visiting with the Alfords, and waiting for Drew and his new fiance to arrive....looking forward to a few days of fun, although i think the 60 degree weather may prevent our big plans to ski/snowboard!!
