The Stickley family adventures started in Hawaii in 2005 when Cris and Emilie were married. The real excitement began in May 2008, when Nova was born. 2 short months later, our little June-Bug joined the family from all the way in Vietnam. The next few crazy years included Emilie being deployed to Afghanistan, while Cris and the girls moved back to Hawaii, then a long year of living apart (and a lot of trips across the Pacific Ocean), while Emilie remained in Colorado to complete her Army committment, and Cris had to stay in Hawaii for his job at the University.

In the summer of 2012, little Jude joined our family, and the whole gang reunited for good in Hawaii!

Follow our adventures, as we try to keep track of life with our 3 crazy kids, while keeping our friends and family updated on the happenings here in Hawaii!

Day 112 / 84 To Go: Our Growing Girls...

Posted by: Cris

Our little girls are growing up. Everyday, the conversations they have with me and the thoughts they express and the types of things they play make me realize they are 3 going on 13. I think back at how quickly Alex & Lyndsey went from 3 to 13 and realize that day will be here before I know it. I've looked back at how Nova looked even right before Emilie left for deployment just 3.5 months ago and she looks like she's gone from baby to little girl.

The girls sit and play complex pretend scenarios with components that I could never believe they'd ever be able to comprehend when they were little bitty babies.
Worst of all, they are both pretty much on the border of doing away with their afternoon nap. This week has been a battle and only 1 day this week did both of them take a nap. Juneau could basically do away with her nap on all but the busiest days at this point probably...which makes me tired because often the only time I get to hit a project is while they are both sleeping :)
But, no matter how grown up she is becoming, Nova still lives for pretending she is a little princess...complete with her very own throne:
