The Stickley family adventures started in Hawaii in 2005 when Cris and Emilie were married. The real excitement began in May 2008, when Nova was born. 2 short months later, our little June-Bug joined the family from all the way in Vietnam. The next few crazy years included Emilie being deployed to Afghanistan, while Cris and the girls moved back to Hawaii, then a long year of living apart (and a lot of trips across the Pacific Ocean), while Emilie remained in Colorado to complete her Army committment, and Cris had to stay in Hawaii for his job at the University.

In the summer of 2012, little Jude joined our family, and the whole gang reunited for good in Hawaii!

Follow our adventures, as we try to keep track of life with our 3 crazy kids, while keeping our friends and family updated on the happenings here in Hawaii!

Day 162 / 35 To Go: Tired! Tired! Tired Girls!!!

Posted by: Cris

It has been an incredibly action packed day that has resulted in Beth and I being wiped out by the end of it all. The girls were full of energy and ready to hit the Children's Discovery Center We met Melody in the lobby and of course the screaming ensued. Dancing fun Nova made me sit there and put this giant brain puzzle together twice and then later while everyone else was playing something else, asked me to take her back over and put it together again. Nova taking a turn at baseball. Juneau and Melody are inseparable... Nova loved the Dr's office play area and asked me to take her back there later when everyone else was doing something else. This play area with the boat and the beach was the biggest hit of the day. I don't know how long we stayed in this area alone but I think the gang would have been happy if that was all we'd done all day. Kaleidoscope hall of mirrors... Nova back at the Dr's office... When we hit the dress-up theater, the real craziness ensued as each girl had to try on every outfit. Melody working on her future "spokes model" career. Of course the grocery store was a big hit with Nova Firetruck Juneau in the special reading chair - August, 2008 Juneau in the special reading chair - April, 2011 Nova loved the special reading chair too... After a quick dash back to Melody's house, I left the girls with Beth for lunch and an attempt at a nap (yeah right!) and headed back to the medical school for class. Activities for the rest of the day including making chocolate pudding for dessert, putting this puzzle together and making the Hamilton house look like a toy store exploded. Though the effects of the morning at the Discovery Center, no nap, and a full afternoon of play were starting to take it's toll, we headed down to fireworks. After the fireworks, Melody's new ball was a big hit as the girls continued to chase it and each other around the park. Yes, those eyes are getting very sleepy. This game of passing the ball around the circle was absolutely hilarious and the cause of much screaming... All of the girls would have been happy to stay at the park all night and play but we had to call it a night at some point so after hugs all around, we headed home. I think Nova was asleep before we got out of Waikiki... Thanks Melody, Aunt Beth and Uncle Tim for a super-fun day!!
