Day 10: Breakfast With Mommy...Dinner With Melody

After several days of seemingly constant rain here on the windward side of Oahu, this morning finally greeted us with sunshine and a fairly clear day. So, there were about 50 boats out at the sandbar today. The highlight of this morning was getting to eat breakfast with mommy via long distance.

Since we stole the idea of breakfast via skype from cousin Melody and her grandma, it was appropriate that we spent the evening with the whole gang of Tim, Beth, Melody, Aunt Wally and Oma. The girls were in constant motion, climbing up and down the ladder (as Beth and Aunt Wally cringed), bouncing on the coach and generally raising a ruckus.

This was the first dinner party I ever hosted solo so the fact that I pulled together pretty much a full meal including Huli Huli chicken, teriyaki beef, rice, salad, fruit and desert (complimented by the baked beans Tim spent all night making from scratch) was a bit of a shocker.

Unfortunately it was a bit too breezy and cool to eat on the lanai so we move the party indoors.

The kid's table was far from quiet and calm until we put dessert down in front of them (Costco's world famous red velvet cake).

After dinner, from up in the "castle" (as Juneau and Nova have named it), the girls decided the car track worked better when taken apart and pretending they were fishing off the loft.

Of course by the end of the evening the girls had lured Beth, the consummate mom, into reading Disney stories.

Hopefully each set of 10 days goes as fast as these first 10 have gone and we'll be pushing 180 before we know it.
