Unfortunately, it hasn't taken Emilie long to become 100% involved in the war effort. In the last 2 days, the two biggest stories related to Afghanistan, on the front page of every news website have been:
Jalalabad Base Attack (which Emilie recounted previously)
and
7 NATO troops killed in Afghanistan - I had just seen this headline this morning before talking to Emilie during which she told me she had been told to be ready to get up in the middle of the night as soon as the bodies of 6 guys who got killed got to the base so she could examine them and sign the death certificates.
So, it seems the action in Afghanistan has been a little elevated the last couple days. I'm hoping for Emilie's sake and everyone else currently deployed there that things get calmed back down in the coming days.
Not much excitement for me and the girls today. I woke up with an awesome dehydration headache (from yesterday's activities moving the beam and breaking up concrete in the hot little area under Dr. K's house) which is still hanging on a bit this evening. Bedtime snack: Big glass of milk with a Midrin chaser.
This evening we made our weekly trip to the Naval Exchange to buy random stuff and groceries.

From being up late the last 2 nights and getting up early and only limited naps the last 2 days, the girls were wiped out all day. They almost fell asleep in the van on the way home at 6:30 this evening.
