The Stickley family adventures started in Hawaii in 2005 when Cris and Emilie were married. The real excitement began in May 2008, when Nova was born. 2 short months later, our little June-Bug joined the family from all the way in Vietnam. The next few crazy years included Emilie being deployed to Afghanistan, while Cris and the girls moved back to Hawaii, then a long year of living apart (and a lot of trips across the Pacific Ocean), while Emilie remained in Colorado to complete her Army committment, and Cris had to stay in Hawaii for his job at the University.

In the summer of 2012, little Jude joined our family, and the whole gang reunited for good in Hawaii!

Follow our adventures, as we try to keep track of life with our 3 crazy kids, while keeping our friends and family updated on the happenings here in Hawaii!

Day 14: Veteran's Day

This year Veteran's Day is particularly special to our family for obvious reasons. I am honored that Emilie is able to continue the tradition of service in my family going back to my grandpa serving in the Phillipines in the Army during WWII and my dad also serving in the Phillipines in the Air Force during Vietnam.

I am very grateful to be surrounded in both my personal and professional life by current and former active duty members of the military and their families and I am thankful that these outstanding people have chosen to offer themselves in service and sacrifice to this great country. I am extremely honored to know you all.

The girls and I enjoyed Veteran's Day by spending an awesome time with cousin Melody and Aunts Beth and Wally (and Oma!).
Beth called up this morning and invited us to the giant bounce house play area at the Windward Mall. I didn't tell the girls where we were going - only that we were going to do something fun. When they saw Melody they were THRILLED!

Just watching the kids running and bouncing around was enough to make the adults tired.

A quick drink break then back at it...

Juneau thought that smashing this "air block" down into her "bean bag" seat was HILARIOUS!
Nova and Aunt Wally (Grandma Stickley better hurry up and get out here and stay for a good long time...Aunt Wally is getting all the Nova love!)

At the last moment before snapping this shot, all four kids were standing still and looking at the cameras...then Melody started bouncing, then Juneau dropped to the floor, then Nova started laughing...so much for the perfect picture.

Headed to lunch after plenty of bouncing. The three of them walking through the mall holding hands was priceless!
Finally - a video for mommy (not great but forgetting the camera means pictures and video with the cell phone which equals limitations)
